Loose organic pearl spelled is a cereal that has elliptical and dark golden colored grains whose belly has a groove in the centre. The glumetta, the outer skin of the grain, is removed when it is hulled. Then it is subsequently pearled, that is, it undergoes a further abrasion, which eliminates the pericarp, which is the external layer of the caryopsis. This procedure makes the cereal lighter in color and allows a faster cooking process, without however eliminating any fundamental nutritional principle.

With this cereal you can prepare timbales or, instead of rice, tasty supplì.

It is excellent in salads, for example in combination with cherry tomatoes, green beans, olives, mozzarella, basil or seasoned with a zucchini and shrimp pesto.

For the preparation of loose organic pearled spelled, first of all, this must be washed under running water, to eliminate impurities.

The pearl spelled variant does not require soaking, therefore it can be directly boiled in plenty of salted water for about 30 minutes considering twice the amount of water compared to the cereal.

Once cooked, it should be left to rest for ten minutes before seasoning it as desired.
