Traditionally grown in the Vercelli area, it spread particularly in the early 1900s.

Its pearl effect accelerates cooking times which are approximately 12/15 minutes.

Properties

This variety of rice is a rich source of mineral salts such as iron and phosphorus.

It is also naturally rich in vitamin B1.
